An eventful weekend

Saturday

Morning til early evening:

had a braai (barbeque) with a whole bunch of people, it's so awesome to have that smell whaffling around and the Tiramisu from I dunno who was fantastic... Mascapone cheese and ice cream so lekker (nice).

Evening:

went to support a band out in the "east side", the driveway to the place is between 2 car dealerships, my buddy was waiting outside, phoned me and said "dude, you just passed me". I gave another friend a call and he came through... why can't "bouncers" carry those metal detector thingies or do they just like touching people? The band was fantastic, just needed more people to arrive... met an Austrian gal who's on holiday, she let all of us sign her travel journal whilst playing some pool. She was funny and was a avid Metallica fan (she wore a t-shirt that said Metallica). *thinking back*... the one gal took a liking to my other buddy and when we were about to drive away from the parking lot, her friend stopped my buddy's car to ask for his number... luckily, she didn't have her phone with her, so my buddy offered to keep her number and call her sometime... shame, poor girl, don't think he's gonna call and I think she was drunk.

Sunday

Morning:

attended church whilst still trying to wipe the sleep out my eyes, was hectic or "heavy" but cool stuff that was spoken all round.

Afternoon til early morning:

don't you just love driving around the neighborhoods with your window open around the lunch hours, catching all the brilliant braai's going on... I joined friends for lunch at an awesome Chinese restaurant, enjoyed the crispy chicken and always the tea as well as the company of course. Chilled at another friend's place with some Wolverine on PS3, not quite like the movie but was fun, attack sequences nice and dynamic, it had such a good flow to it and the detail/sharpness was awesome of course. So the group decided where we wanted to go for dinner and on the way out, my one buddy was standing near the gate and tossing his keys thinking he was a cricketer or summin because as my other buddy said "I laugh it lands in the gutter", he threw it up and it landed in the roof gutter... no one was laughing. Hehe. After many attempts of finding it in the gutter and 2 stepladders away, we found it by knocking the gutter drain pipe on the wall very hard... yes, my friend tossed them into the hole of the drainage pipe of the gutter, what are the chances?? (and it's night time)

After having a finger licking rib/meaty supper, one of the guys took a bet to take 2 gulps of the lemon & water-wash-your-fingers bowl, mixed with left over rib bones and other stuff for R20 ($2.6), lol. He did it. When we were leaving, the waitress thought we didn't tip her but we did, so to sort it out, we went to check with the manager (who managed the payments of our table, she took a mixture of card and cash) and at first she said "you guys didn't tip her", then upon closer inspection of the bill and all the payments, she was like "oh, you did tip". Our conspiracy theory is that the manager just wanted to pocket the waitress's tip, shame.

So for dessert, we decided to try a News Cafe, they put some tables together and everything for us, brought the menus... we all took a whiff of the menus and they smelt like sour/dirty rags (don't know how to describe) apart from the pages being sticky and not so easy to open (even though they are laminated)... so we made a group decision and decided to go to Cats Pajamas, twas definitely a step up and we could definitely smell and hear the difference (they had some classic soft club tunes in the background). [mental note if ever starting something with a food menu, keep it clean] After some desserts, fun moments, loads of mobile cameras, we hit the road once more... gave a few friends a lift and enjoyed the great city-lit roads back home...

My final bite for the night... it's call a "I love Chocolate" and basically, it's a chocolate brownie topped with vanilla ice cream and a random strawberry on the top, haha... itwas very rich, once in awhile is good enough for me...
